Gold Eye Needle Selection Guide

The right needle makes every stitch smoother. Gold Eye needles feature an elongated, polished gold-toned eye that opens slightly wider than a standard steel eye — making threading fine beading thread dramatically easier, especially under workshop lighting. The eye closes back flush with the needle shaft so it glides through tight bead holes without snagging.

Beading vs. Sharps vs. Short & Sharp

  • Beading needles are long and flexible — ideal for picking up multiple beads at once and passing through beads repeatedly (e.g. peyote, loom work).
  • Sharps are shorter and stiffer with a rounder point — better control for embroidery and surface beading where you stitch into fabric.
  • Short & Sharp combines a short shaft with a sharp point — easiest to manoeuvre in confined spaces and great for fringe work.

General Care

  • Store needles in a needle case or felt book to prevent bending.
  • Discard any needle that develops a hook or burr at the tip — it will split thread.
  • Rinse hands before beading to reduce oil transfer to the needle shaft.
